Desnianskyi oats
Oats are an important agricultural crop. They are an annual plant that can produce high yields under the right conditions. Oats only do well in areas with plenty of moisture; drained peatlands are an ideal place to sow them.
In Ukraine, oats are widely grown in Polissia, as well as on suitable land in the Carpathians and the Carpathian foothills.
Oats — a source of vitamins and starch
Our farm has fields in these areas and sells feed oats for horses and for fattening young cattle. Our oats can also be used as seed material.
Oats contain up to 14% protein, 4–5% fat and 50% starch, as well as plenty of vitamins and biologically active substances. Oat grain is used to make groats and beverages and in dietary nutrition.
How oats are grown
Oats are sown together with other cereals and cut green for livestock feed. As mentioned above, oats need a lot of moisture to give high yields.
Our specialists know this and choose only suitable plots for sowing. Ecopel LLC strictly follows crop rotation: oats are sown only after row crops, legumes or winter cereals. Sowing oats after beet is highly undesirable.
